Registration
IBCOL 2024 offers 2 programs :
- Contestants: compete in the 7th International Blockchain Olympiad and participate in special tour of academic, industry, and government facilities related to blockchain, AI, and other emerging technologies around The Netherlands.
- Observers: join the [aforementioned] special tour
Eligible participants must be either current or recent students from :
- Secondary-level academic institution (e.g. middle school, high school, collegiate institute, gymnasium, lyceum, etc)
- Tertiary-level academic institution (e.g. college, university, Hochschule)
Contestant Teams have:
- Minimum 1 and maximum 6 eligible individuals
- May not be more than 50% identical to another team
Observers must be eligible individuals.
Contestants may represent countries in IBCOL 2024
A contestant may represent a country of their choice by :
- Birthright
- Citizenship
- Permanent Residency
- Academic Affiliation
- Academic Nomination
If a contestant is stateless, the Competitions Committee (IBCOL-24CC) may assign a country for the contestant to represent.
Contestant Teams must register before submitting materials. Unless granted special exemption due to force majeure, Contestant Teams and Observer Delegations must register by Monday 30 September 2024

Submissions Deadline
Teams submit their materials differently, if they represent countries:
- With accredited organizers: refer to the schedule and deadlines set by the local representative(s) and/or organizing committee
- Without accredited organizers: the deadline for submitting has been extended to Monday 30 September 2024 — if teams require an extension due to force majeure, contact us to present your case and make request

Process
Contestants will be evaluated by accredited organizers at the national level or by the Ersatz Competitions Committee for countries without an accredited organizer. Qualified candidates are invited to the Finals in Amsterdam (21-22 November 2024).
